Victimization, Tensions, and Students’ School Experience
Education, as a pillar of children’s intellectual and personal flourishing, is at times troubled by tensions and acts of violence, casting a shadow over this fundamental experience. The workshop titled Victimization, Tensions, and Students’ School Experience» aims to explore the multiple facets that shape the way violence is perceived within schools. Furthermore, it seeks to understand the consequences of this perception on students’ school experience (emotional well-being, academic success, and student engagement), while proposing strategies to foster a safer and more inclusive learning environment.

- What are the various forms of violence and tension observed in schools?
- How do students perceive violence and tension in their school environment?
- What are the consequences of victimization and tensions on students’ school experience?
- What factors help shape in perceptions of violence in schools?
- What strategies can be implemented to prevent violence and tension at school?
These in-depth questions will enable participants to delve into the issues surrounding the perception of violence in the school environment while broadening their understanding of the factors that contribute to this complex perception. This workshop seeks to open the way to informed discussions and the search for concrete solutions to improve the quality of education in a healthier and harmonious environment by reflecting on the repercussions on students’ experience.
